Sheridan Blake Executive Search are currently looking to recruit a Robot Technician to Carryout fault finding activities and undertake timely repair of equipment such as Robotics, PLC’s, Electrical Control Systems, Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
This will be to work for a international automotive tier one supplier based in Cannock and will be on a shift basis working under pressure to tight deadlines.
Shift work – Double days, some weekend and night work.
Shifts include:- 5.30 – 13.30, 14.00 – 22.00, 22.00 – 5.30 Mon – Thurs
5.30 – 12.30, 13.00 – 20.00, 20.00 – 4.30 Friday
Summary of the role below:
Undertake planned preventative maintenance activities on automated production facilities.
Programming, fault diagnosis, servicing and repair of motoman robots, rotary positioners and mig spot welding equipment.
Prepare technical reports to analyse breakdown causes and make recommendations on countermeasures.
Support equipment commissioning and installation projects
Ensure strict adherence to safe working practices and observe safety rules at all times
Prudent approach to maintenance identifying low cost options

Completion of all work to the highest standards
Adherence to all health and safety requirements
Enthusiastic and self motivated
Fast response to plant stoppages, ensuring key process achieve maximum uptime.
Prioritising workloads, within the response/breakdown environment.
Carrying out routine maintenance, and renovating worn components.
Improvements to current equipment to achieve a faster cycle time, close QPRs, improve product flow.
Adherence to departmental systems and looking at analysed data to improve departmental efficiency which is governed by production OEE rates.
Technical Expertise Required
City & Guilds 17th edition regulations
Completed a recognised electrical or mechatronic apprenticeship
HNC / ONC electrical qualifications preferred
Reasonable level of mechanical aptitude including welding, fabrication and mechanical fitting
IT literacy, applications such as, Word, Excel, AutoCAD
Experience with PLC (programmable logic controllers) and HMI’s (human machine interface)
Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Have experience in welding technology and if possible the maintenance of welding equipment
Ability to work as part of a team or under own initiative.
Good communication Skills
Ability to coach others

5 years experience within an automotive maintenance environment
Working to the latest European Health and safety harmonized standards
