Sheridan Blake Executive Search are looking to recruit a Buyer for their client based in Telford.
The post is designed to carry out specified administration and procurement activities within the procurement function, working closely with all members of the Supply Chain and Operations teams, ensuring procurement activity is based upon best overall value and providing a positive impact on the QCLDM (Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development and Management) of suppliers of new and existing products.
The chosen candidate will report to the Senior Buyer - Spares & Repairables.
Key Objectives & Responsibilities:
Ø Active role in the setting up, maintaining and improving commercial supplier relationships and supplier performance, lowering cost of supply for all product lines procuredØ Support the Supply Chain function with daily updates on performance, tasks and objectives. Setting and monitoring the output of the team via departmental KPI’s.Ø Generate and manage Requests for Quotation and tender analysis.Ø Generate and manage purchase orders with an extensive range of product and supply base.Ø Manage, maintain and process MRP reporting.Ø Manage and maintain supplier price files relating to the Supply Chain work streams.Ø Timely resolution of invoice and supplier queries.Ø Setup, manage and maintain MRP / MAS500 base data relating to supplier detail and bought out parts.Ø Ensure the procurement is based upon best commercial value for the total cost of supply.Ø Alternative sourcing of key components and assemblies to achieve cost and delivery requirements.Ø Perform data analysis and issue reports on supplier performance to ensure suppliers meet and maintain expected performance levels.Ø Deliver cost-down and cost-avoidance initiatives in support of financial targets.

Experience, Qualifications & Competency Requirements
Ø Minimum of 2-3 years of previous experience in a dynamic purchasing roleØ Ideally a member of CIPS or working towards qualification.Ø Worked within a manufacturing environmentØ Demonstrable effectiveness in teamwork and communicationsØ Knowledge of ITAR regulations desirableØ Experience of commercial / niche vehicle manufacturing sectors desirableØ Ability to travel nationwideØ Demonstrable Microsoft Excel skills to “advanced” levelØ Obtaining and maintaining security clearance is a pre-requisite of employment
